FAQs

1. What is Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)?
Dance Movement Therapy is a psychotherapeutic approach that uses movement and body awareness to support emotional, cognitive, and social integration. It’s a powerful, non-verbal way to explore and release what words can’t always express.
2. Do I need any dance experience to join?
Not at all! Our sessions are designed for everyone, regardless of dance or movement background. The focus is on expression, not performance.
3. Who are these sessions and workshops for?
Our sessions and workshops are for everyone — regardless of age, background, or experience. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, reconnect with your body, explore your emotions, or simply move with more freedom, Serenity in Motion offers a space for you. You don't need to be a dancer or an artist — just come as you are. We welcome individuals, educators, professionals, students, caregivers, and communities seeking expression, healing, and connection through movement and creativity.
4. Are your services only for people with mental health concerns?
Not at all! While many find healing and support through our offerings, our sessions are for anyone who wants to connect with themselves, manage stress, improve body awareness, or simply experience joy through movement.
5. Are your services available online?
Yes! We offer both in-person and virtual sessions, making it easier for anyone, anywhere to join our community!
6. Will we see instant results in our well-being after a session with you?
While one might feel more relaxed or emotionally clearer after just one session, lasting change takes time. Like any other form of therapy, movement therapy is a continuous process and the results only show up with consistent work. Everyone’s journey is different, and we’re here to support yours, every step of the way.
